Licenses

Competition Rules

Purpose of these rules

Keep drivers in competitive divisions while allowing performance-led movement through the field.

Rule

4.1.4

There are five license levels. License 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4. Each license enables you to compete in the corresponding division and the one directly above it.

Rule

4.1.5

Licenses are set initially based on Time Trial pace or Academy Performance, and then on your race results and general league performance. All the placements are done automatically using an advanced algorithm, if you have any issue with your placement, you can ask to be moved up a license level, but if you want to be moved down, there is nothing we can do.

Rule

4.1.6

Once a driver has been assigned a license level, they must do at least one IMS academy race and be cleared to drive by our admin team. Then, they may contact or be contacted by a team principal to negotiate a seat in one of the divisions they are eligible for. This does not apply for drivers with License 0.

Rule

4.1.7

During the season, each driver is given a ‘dominance’ value based on their results in the season. If this value crosses +100, the driver is promoted to a higher license level, if the value falls below -100, the driver is demoted to a lower license level.
