Setting up for this circuit
The Red Bull Ring gives heavy braking and slow-corner exits a large share of a short lap. Balance straight-line efficiency against the support you need through the faster downhill corners near the end.
- Compare brake release into the uphill hairpin rather than changing the whole setup after one lock-up.
- Check traction from the hairpin and the following right-hander using the same gear and throttle application.
- Judge rear stability through the final two corners before choosing less wing.
Qualifying adjustments
On a short lap, compare complete clean attempts; a gain under braking is easily lost through a hesitant final-corner exit.
