Setting up for this circuit
Montreal alternates heavy braking, kerbed chicanes and acceleration. A compliant car can help you follow your chosen line, but it still needs to settle quickly enough for the next braking zone.
- Use the final chicane to compare kerb response without changing how much kerb you take.
- Check traction from the hairpin before judging speed down the long straight.
- Compare brake release into the chicanes rather than choosing solely by peak braking confidence.
Qualifying adjustments
Keep a sharper qualifying balance only if the car still settles after the final chicane’s kerbs and lets you complete the exit cleanly.
