Monaco gives placement, slow-corner rotation and traction priority over straight-line speed. Choose a balance you can repeat near the barriers, with enough compliance to use your line without being thrown away from it.

Compare brake release into Sainte Dévote and Mirabeau before chasing more front response everywhere.
Check the hairpin and Portier for slow-speed rotation and traction.
Use the Swimming Pool sequence to make sure a more compliant option still changes direction cleanly.

Qualifying adjustments

Keep the qualifying balance precise enough for the Swimming Pool but forgiving enough to repeat Portier and the final-corner exits.
