Setting up for this circuit
Monza makes a strong case for low drag, but its chicanes still require controlled braking, kerb tolerance and traction. Keep enough support to carry speed through the Lesmos, Ascari and the final long right-hander.
- Check both braking and the exit from the first chicane before judging straight-line efficiency.
- Compare Ascari across all its direction changes with your usual kerb use.
- Keep the second Lesmo and final-corner exits clean: each feeds a long acceleration section.
Qualifying adjustments
Judge reduced drag with the same energy deployment, then check that the lighter car remains controllable over chicane kerbs and under the heaviest braking.
