Aban-96- finished second from fourth on the Texas D2 grid and left as the new championship leader. Legham777 won the race, but Aban's result moved the Haas driver to 62 points.
WSL Klunkyboi remained on 56 points in second, leaving a six-point difference. The race winner and new standings leader were different drivers, just as they had been in several early Season 5 contests.
Second place carries first-place consequence
The championship significance sits in the conversion from P4 to P2. Aban did not need to beat Legham777 to change the title order; finishing ahead of the existing points reference was enough.
Haas still trailed the leading D2 constructors. Ferrari held 115 points and Williams 92, illustrating how an individual lead could sit apart from the team contest.
Six points resets the target
A six-point advantage offered Aban control of the table but no meaningful insulation. Mexico would begin with the lead changed and the contest still compact.
Texas belonged to Legham777 as a race winner and to Aban as a championship mover. The two stories share a podium, but they answer different questions—and D2 needed both.
