Cadillac gain, rivals payIMS story

Cadillac stretch their Singapore lead as MagMagnussen is disqualified and banned

Ussh's penalty removal and Jan's promotion to the podium strengthen an opening weekend already worth two wins. Williams' gains in D2 and D3 only cover their D0 losses, while Audi take the biggest BOTT hit.

Cadillac already had two Singapore victories. The FIA rulings have given them a stronger weekend still: eighteen extra BOTT points, an advantage of thirty-five over Aston Martin and the D3 constructors' lead that had belonged to VCARB.

Our season preview made Cadillac the D1 favourites but put them fourth in BOTT because the supporting divisions had to close the gap. Singapore has supplied that support: Poly and Bigwoottz keep their wins, while Ussh rises from eleventh to sixth and Jan and Jacko are promoted to third and fourth. Cadillac's closest rivals have had a less forgiving revision. Aston Martin lose MagMagnussen's result and face his one-race ban; Williams recover just enough elsewhere to pay for Zopz's D0 penalty.

Three seconds give Ussh nine points

Poly's D1 win had left an awkward imbalance: thirty points from one Cadillac, two from the other. Ussh's warning removal changes that. The FIA accepted that he slowed after cutting Turn 2 on lap 24, rejoined safely and lost a position. Removing that warning reduces his six seconds of track-limits penalties to three.

The traffic ahead changes too. Marco receives five seconds for making rear contact with Gennaro before taking the position on the following straight; Arti receives eight seconds across his two incidents with JD; and Mag is disqualified. Ussh gains five places and nine points, giving Cadillac forty-one in D1 against Aston Martin's twenty-three. Their six-point constructors' lead becomes eighteen.

D3 brings a change of leader. Jan and Jacko's revised third and fourth are worth thirty-four points together, enough to put Cadillac two ahead of VCARB. Nesbi's victory stands, but DoctorB's ten-second penalty for the collision that sent ELITE HEAT SHOW into the wall drops him from eighth to eleventh. VCARB's second score falls to two points.

Carlos's comeback loses its podium. Ten seconds for spinning Hotshot drop him from second to fifth and cost Alpine ten points. The FIA found that he had not established sufficient overlap at Turn 10. Josh's separate ten-second penalty for hitting Aban from behind helps open the way for the two Cadillacs; ximqf moves up to second.

Williams' podium gains only cover the damage

Jhazztan's D2 podium supplies six extra points and ximqf's improved D3 result supplies four. Zopz loses all ten of them in D0. Williams finish the verdicts on the same eighty-six BOTT points, while Cadillac move another eighteen clear.

The contrast comes from what the drivers did after finding themselves alongside another car. Jhazztan cut the corner to avoid contact, slowed and gave BenArnold the position back. Removing his three-second penalty lifts him from fifth to third, ahead of Zloober and DabFoot. Zopz pushed Maco out of the way to make his pass; five seconds drop him from fifth to tenth. Two better podium finishes elsewhere have only repaired that loss. Jhazztan's podium backs the D2 pairing we thought could underpin Williams' BOTT defence. With pwjones retiring, however, the division supplies nineteen points from one car.

Ferrari also lose a second-car contribution in D0. Sammy's collisions with Karl and Maco earn ten seconds and two penalty points apiece, dropping him from seventh to fifteenth. His nine race points disappear, leaving Ferrari's entire D0 score to piastrigoat's third place. Aston Martin's lead in that division grows from six to nineteen, helped by Raptorr moving up to eighth.

Higosh's reprieve cannot spare Audi

Higosh gets a substantially better D0 debut after the game-issued ten-second penalty for a minor tap on Charlotte is removed. Fifteenth becomes ninth. What had been a finish worth only the five-point BOTT licence bonus is now five race points and ten towards BOTT.

That gain cannot cover Audi's losses elsewhere. McBeth's two upheld D2 collision complaints add fifteen seconds, dropping him from seventh to eleventh and costing seven race points. In E3, Jean Claude receives five seconds for the Turn 8 contact that sent Alfie into the wall and another five for driving through his ghosted car to complete the pass. Fourth becomes sixth, with Ceetee and Tullo promoted behind the unchanged podium. Despite Higosh's reprieve, Audi lose eight BOTT points, the biggest net loss of any team.

Mag's penalty reaches beyond Singapore

The largest sporting restriction belongs to Mag. The FIA found that he intentionally spun Gennaro under the Safety Car; slowing to correct a delta did not justify deliberate contact. He is disqualified from D1, loses the three points for tenth and receives six penalty points plus a one-race ban.

Aston Martin still gain one BOTT point overall because Raptorr's four-point improvement in D0 outweighs that loss. In D1, though, Mag's score disappears just as Ussh's is restored: a twelve-point swing between Cadillac and their nearest rival in the division.

Aston remain Cadillac's closest BOTT challengers. They now have almost twice the deficit to attack and a driver with a race ban to serve.
