Ferrari won China's BOTT round with 123.8 points despite failing to win any of the five classifications. VCARB finished 1.2 behind on 122.6.

Ferrari produced three podiums and six top-five finishes from nine starts. VCARB had one win, four podiums and seven top fives from ten, yet the final team score favoured Ferrari.

The prettier column loses the decimal fight

VCARB led Ferrari in wins, podiums, top fives and starts. BOTT's complete scoring accumulation still placed Ferrari first, a useful warning against assuming the most visible count must dictate the team result.

Mercedes followed in third on 101.4 from only five starts. China therefore gave each leading team a different profile: Ferrari's total, VCARB's richer finish counts and Mercedes' compact entry list.

One point two preserves a 58-point season lead

Ferrari left China on 1284.8 points to VCARB's 1226.8. The round did not widen the season gap dramatically, but it prevented VCARB from converting its stronger finish counts into a championship reduction.

Silverstone-R was next. China had made the lesson awkward and memorable: VCARB won a race; Ferrari won the round; 1.2 points kept the distinction exact.
