FatCatBatMan465 claimed a first IMS victory from pole at Imola, with Mercedes team-mate Jonno moving from P3 to second. Their D1 one-two produced 79.8 points, the highest same-team driver-pair score in IMS history through Season 4 Round 7.
Lord Mahaveer completed the podium for VCARB from P2. The top three therefore moved as a compact unit: FatCat retained first, Jonno gained one place and Mahaveer lost one, while the two Mercedes finishes combined into the larger statistical achievement.
The breakthrough comes with company
A first win often stands alone as the obvious headline. Imola supplied a second layer because Jonno's runner-up finish was not incidental decoration: together the Mercedes pair accumulated 79.8, turning an individual milestone into a team record within D1.
Jonno's 26-point result also moved the D1 total to 78, second in the standings behind Websey on 110. FatCat's breakthrough reshaped the round; Jonno's accompanying score kept a different Mercedes driver closest in the season table.
First on two separate lists
FatCat occupied the first position in the classification, while the 79.8 occupied first in the historical pair comparison. The accompanying table shows the leading five pair scores and highlights Imola, making the record visible instead of asking the headline to carry it unsupported.
Those are related but distinct achievements. One belongs to a driver reaching the top step for the first time. The other belongs to two Mercedes finishes adding up to more than any previous pairing in the comparison set. Imola earned both readings.
