NesbiLeGrand converted Bahrain pole into a first IMS victory for Ferrari, ending a wait of 27 starts and seven podiums.
Ferrari also held second with zoolander83, while OnlineGuy99 gained two places to finish third for Williams.
Seven podiums had asked the question
Across Aston Martin and Ferrari, and through D3, E2 and D2, NesbiLeGrand had amassed 407 points and seven podiums without winning. Start 28 answered the obvious question from pole.
The career had begun with Aston Martin at Silverstone in Season 2 before moving to Ferrari. Across four seasons and four divisions, 28 starts had now produced eight podiums, two poles, one win and 439 points.
Bahrain turns patience into precision
Bahrain changed the interpretation of a substantial body of work. NesbiLeGrand was no longer the regular podium finisher still waiting for P1; the longest-running omission had finally gone.
This was not a newcomer stumbling upon a result. It was a familiar contender finally removing the asterisk from a substantial record—and doing it without surrendering the lead from the grid.
