Walter9500 moved from P2 to win Silverstone's D2 race for Cadillac, taking a first IMS victory four seasons after the debut campaign.
TheMDog climbed from P13 to second for Ferrari, whose team-mate xAQxFr finished third after starting from pole.
A career split into two distant acts
Walter9500's first IMS chapter came in Season 3 with Alpine and Audi. Season 7 reopened the record under Cadillac, and start 11 lifted the totals to two podiums, one win and 157 points.
Nine Season 3 starts for Alpine had produced one podium before the career disappeared from the record. Two Season 7 appearances with Audi and Cadillac lifted the returning totals to 11 starts, two podiums, one victory and 157 points.
One place forward, four seasons of distance erased
The classification records a one-place gain; the career record measures a far greater distance. Silverstone connected two eras of participation and made the second one immediately more successful than the first.
The classification says P2 to P1. The career line says rather more: a return, a third team and a first victory separated from the debut by four seasons.
