Frizzstroyer claimed a first IMS victory in Australia, moving from fourth on the D2 grid to first for Aston Martin.
Webbah87 finished second for Williams and moved from fifth to first in the drivers' standings. A 24-point round took the new leader to 78, two ahead of Walter9500.
Two climbs, measured differently
Frizzstroyer gained three places in the race. Webbah lost one place from pole to flag but gained four in the championship. The directions look contradictory only if race position and season position are treated as the same currency.
CONNOROCE completed the podium after climbing from seventh to third. Walter, meanwhile, added nine championship points and slipped from first to second on 76.
The closest lead belongs to Webbah
Two points separated Webbah and Walter after Australia. Frizzstroyer's breakthrough supplied the race's emotional centre; the 78-76 standings supplied the next round with its immediate competitive question.
The Australian D2 result deserves both headlines: Frizzstroyer entered the winners' list, and Webbah entered the next round carrying a two-point target on the back of the championship leader.
