Qualifying + Race Start

Driving Rules

Purpose of these rules

Protect fair preparation, clean hot laps and an orderly start to every race.

Rule

3.1.0

When on a slow lap (e.g. out lap/in lap), you must not impede drivers on a hot lap. Move off the racing line as soon as possible and allow them to pass without any time loss for them. All forms of impeding will be penalized.

Standard penalty
Qualifying ban + 3pp
Rule

3.1.1

Deliberately cutting corners around the track to gain time or save tyre wear is prohibited. If you are on low fuel mode, you may cut corners if you do not impede anyone.

Standard penalty
1pp/cut
Rule

3.1.2

Providing your teammate with a slipstream is allowed. However, slipstreams where the car providing a slipstream cuts corners to continue providing a slipstream are forbidden where any advantage is gained.

Standard penalty
2pp
Rule

3.1.3

If a driver has received a Qualifying ban, they must not cross the start finish line after leaving the pits. Drivers may complete 1 out lap to test that their setup and equipment work properly. Additional out laps will be penalized.

Standard penalty
DSQ + 1 Race Ban
Rule

3.1.4

The driver behind should leave enough space to the car ahead on their out laps so they do not catch them when they both start their hot laps. If you are caught by a driver on a hot lap whilst also being on a hot lap yourself, you do not need to yield. If you are no longer on a viable lap (up to the stewards’ interpretation), you must yield.

Standard penalty
Qualifying ban + 3pp
Rule

3.1.5

Drivers may use tyres that are not suited for the track conditions, (e.g. slicks on a wet track), however where drivers doing so cause impeding, the incident will be penalised more severely.

Rule

3.1.6

Deliberately blocking a car on a hot lap or deliberately crashing into another driver will be penalized harshly.

Standard penalty
Season Disqualification and ban
Rule

3.1.7

Do not ready up on the grid. This gives time for drivers to configure setups and ensure they are prepared. An admin will ready up after a short break on the grid. Once the 30s timer starts, you can ready up, however you must have a clip showing that you were not the person who started the timer, otherwise, you will be penalised.

Rule

3.1.8

If you spin at the race start, ensure that you to re-join safely and off the racing line to make sure that you do not affect other drivers.

Rule

3.1.9

Drivers joining after the start of the lobby are not allowed to set qualifying laps. If you join after the lobby has begun, you are effectively serving a qualifying ban (see Rule 1.3), the admin may weave this rule for drivers at their discretion, if they had genuine tech issues and were not late.
