Mercedes collected four podiums across Abu Dhabi’s divisions, matching the third-highest team-round podium total in IMS history through Season 3 Round 4. The team did so without winning a race.
The 141-point return placed Mercedes third in the weekend BOTT table, behind Red Bull on 175 and VCARB on 151. Four podiums delivered depth, but not the largest score.
Only two five-podium rounds sit above
Ferrari’s Season 2 rounds at Jeddah and Brazil occupy the first two rows with five podiums apiece. Mercedes joins Ferrari’s four-podium Silverstone and Imola rounds on the next historical mark.
The comparison also exposes the difference between accumulation and conversion. Ferrari paired its earlier four-podium entries with two and three wins; Mercedes paired Abu Dhabi’s four with none.
Depth keeps Mercedes in view, not on top
Red Bull’s three victories made its 175-point total difficult to reach. Mercedes instead filled the result with second and third places, enough for a historical podium count but only P3 in the round score.
Abu Dhabi’s Mercedes story is therefore not a disguised win report. It is the rarer shape of a record-class weekend built entirely below the top step: four podiums, 141 points, third overall.
