Quenooo29 recovered from P17 to third in Abu Dhabi and retained the E2 championship lead. The McLaren driver gained 14 positions and scored 20 points.
Ranga20063239 won from pole and moved four championship places to second on 62. Quenooo remained first on 77, leaving 15 points between them.
The winner applies pressure; P17 answers it
Ranga’s 32-point maximum was the strongest possible attack on the table. Quenooo’s response was not victory but salvage on a large scale: 14 grid places converted into the final podium position.
HPJones finished between them from P2, so the title rivals did not run first and second. That 24-point interruption helped define the arithmetic as much as either rival’s own score.
A podium can be defensive racing
A leader starting P17 had much more to lose than third place suggests. By reaching P3, quenooo kept a double-digit cushion even as the round winner vaulted from sixth to second in the championship.
Abu Dhabi belonged to Ranga as a race result. In the longer E2 argument, quenooo’s 14-place recovery was why the lead survived the attack with 15 points still attached to it.
