JDJT3593 advanced from P4 to win Austria's D3 race and claim a first IMS victory. zoolander83 finished second from pole, with MakeSumUP climbing from P6 to third.
The win moved JDJT3593 to 34 points and the championship lead. zoolander83 followed on 31, while Williams retained the constructors' lead with 59 points, ten more than Ferrari.
The second winner becomes the second leader
Australia had put Murts9691 first in both the race and standings. Austria replaced that order immediately: another driver won from P4, but this time the result installed JDJT3593 at the head of the points table.
Pole again failed to guarantee victory. zoolander83's second place kept the gap to three points, ensuring that JDJT's breakthrough created control without creating distance.
Williams keeps the larger advantage
The constructors' picture was firmer. Williams led Ferrari by ten, a cushion built across two rounds even as the individual order changed. The team's first two victories had come from different drivers.
Hungary followed with the D3 contest already refusing a simple script: two rounds, two P4 winners and two championship leaders. JDJT3593 carried the latest—and narrowest—claim to the top.
