Eleven positions gained carried the Williams driver to second in D2, the largest recovery among a podium whose three finishers all started sixth or lower.

Opts Tryhard started 13th and finished second in Spa's D2 classification, taking a first IMS podium for Williams. The eleven-place gain was the largest among the top three.

Winner FTR Button rose from P7 and third-place ctxVincent from P6. None of the eventual podium started inside the top five, making the grid-to-finish comparison the central fact of the classification.

The longest route stops one place short

Opts gained five more positions than the winner, yet finishing order—not places recovered—awards P1. That tension gives the result its useful edge: the most dramatic climb and the victory belonged to different drivers.

The official data cannot say where or why the eleven changes occurred. It can support the conclusion that no other Spa D2 podium finisher travelled as far from starting slot to finishing position.

A career marker outside the title pair

HPJones and JPlanteX occupied the leading championship positions after Spa. Opts Tryhard's breakthrough supplied a different kind of progress: a first podium achieved without needing to be folded into their points rivalry.

Zandvoort-R came next. Opts arrived with a simple new credential—eleven places gained and a first IMS trophy finish—rather than an embellished promise about what must follow.
