Jonno converted D1 pole into victory in Abu Dhabi for Williams. Championship leader Sammy278 climbed from third to second, with focuser recovering from ninth to third.

Sammy remained first on 177 points, but Jonno closed to 161. The 16-point difference guaranteed a live contest at the final completed round in Spa.

The challenger wins, the leader limits the loss

Jonno took the maximum positional outcome; Sammy's P2 prevented the gap from collapsing completely. Both drivers left Abu Dhabi with a result that served the larger fight.

Williams also led the D1 constructors on 337 points, 41 ahead of Ferrari. Jonno's win strengthened the team position while sharpening the individual contest.
