Focuser won Mexico's D1 race from eighth on the grid, claiming a first IMS victory for Kick Sauber. Raptorr followed from ninth to second, with FatCatBatMan465 third from fifth.
The winner gained seven places and the runner-up seven. Mexico's first two positions were therefore occupied by drivers who had shared neither the front row nor the first three rows.
The fourth row becomes the top step
A first win from P8 gives the breakthrough a clear shape. Focuser's result was not a static conversion; the seven-place difference between grid and finish is the central competitive fact.
Kick Sauber's victory arrived while Ferrari led the D1 constructors' standings by 72 points over Williams. The race win did not erase the season deficit, but it gave the team a result around which to build.
A podium assembled from outside the top four
FatCat's two-place gain to third completed a podium with 16 positions gained in total. Mexico rewarded forward movement at every step.
For focuser, the durable achievement was simpler than the arithmetic: P8 became P1, and a first IMS victory entered the record before Silverstone.
