Sammy278 left Mexico as the recorded D1 championship leader, yet the headline number was a tie. Sammy and Ferrari team-mate Darth Ussh both stood on 83 points after five rounds.
Neither driver appeared on the Mexico podium, which was filled by focuser, Raptorr and FatCatBatMan465. The title moved into deadlock on a weekend won by somebody else.
The table needs countback, not subtraction
A zero-point gap is the sharpest possible championship snapshot. Sammy occupied P1 in the official order, but there was no scoring cushion to defend.
Ferrari's team position was far more comfortable: 177 points, 72 ahead of Williams. The organisation controlled the constructors' contest while its drivers entered an internal stalemate.
Silverstone begins at 83-all
The next round could not be approached through points management because neither driver had points to manage against the other. Any net gain would create daylight.
Mexico's most important D1 championship outcome was therefore not a winner, margin or record. It was perfect numerical equality at the season's fifth checkpoint.
