Cadillac defend their leadIMS story

Shriz backs Cadillac’s depth to protect the lead without Poly and Adrian

Our preseason forecast put Cadillac fourth. Their Team Principal never agreed, and a 35-point BOTT lead gives him an early answer. Covering Poly and Adrian makes Spain a different test.

Cadillac’s depth has gone from the question in our preseason forecast to the reason they lead BOTT. D1 supplied forty-one of their 145 Singapore points; D3 and E3 supplied 67 (lol) between them.

Our team forecast put Cadillac fourth, backing Ussh and Poly to lead D1 while asking much more of the divisions around them. They arrive in Spain thirty-five points ahead of Aston Martin and leading the D1, D3 and E3 constructors standings. Shrizzler was defiant on our data-backed preview, stating that his team was born to win.

Singapore hasn’t changed what I believe this squad can achieve, it has rather reaffirmed it for me. All due respect to the bot but this is not a fourth placed team, it’s a team more than capable of contending for the BOTT. I’m confident in all our divisions and expect all 10 of my teammates to have a great season.

The supporting cars have supplied the bigger share

Jan and Jacko’s revised third and fourth gave Cadillac thirty-four D3 points. Bigwoottz’s E3 win and Opts’ tenth added thirty-three more. Together those two pairings have already made the supporting score a strength. D2’s thirteen-point opening remains the smallest contribution, so there is still room for the squad to spread the work further.

Jan describes how the D3 partnership worked when the race was going wrong:

I find my current team and it's enviroment very motivating. Usually I get very frustrated by the issues that bite my performance like these but during the race Jacko managed to cheer me on and not retire from the race. At that moment I realised I really have a great teammate. I feel like when his race had negative turn I managed to return him the same favor he did to me and I gave him motivation to continue and do our best to "damage control" the situation and it's setbacks. I feel like there won't be any rivalry between us, just pure teamwork. No papaya rules though, ask our tp if we have something like that.

Jacko sets a podium target

The D3 score came from a pairing with room to improve on its Singapore finishes. Jacko describes how the race had opened up for him:

The opportunity to lead at Singapore arose after the two drivers on the front row made mistakes, a jump start and a spin respectively. That left ximqf and I at the front, and after he pitted early, I extended the medium stint in order to have a tyre offset on the hards.

— Jacko

His Spain target combines his own championship ambitions with the pairing’s points:

I tend to race with my own driver's title ambitions in mind, but am always aware of how I can work with my team-mate to maximise points for both of us. I think we need to target the podium in Spain at a minimum, and just keep the points rolling.

— Jacko

Two absences turn depth into an immediate job

Poly and Adrian, who supplied fifty-three Singapore points between them, are currently marked Not Racing for Spain. Ussh is entered alongside Karl in D0, with Lord DabFoot joining Ussh in D1 and retaining his D2 appearance alongside Swith. Cadillac’s cover draws directly on drivers who already have another race to prepare for.

Some absences are bound to happen over a season, specially during this part of the year. We are covering for those seats internally and i’m hoping all goes well for this round too. I’m not looking at any rounds specifically, leading or winning the BOTT has to be a team effort and that is how our Cadillac team intends to go for it too.

— TheShrizzzler

That arrangement puts more responsibility on Ussh and DabFoot while leaving Jan and Jacko together in D3. Our forecast had already questioned what missed appearances might cost Cadillac; Spain supplies an early test of the answer. The lead gives them room, but replacing the opening winner and a D0 runner-up still asks a great deal of those extra starts.

Jan wants the pace without the wheel problems

Jan was positively surprised to leave one of his least favourite tracks with a podium. His return to L3 also brought back wheel trouble that could threaten the next contribution. He has made changes, although he is still waiting for a race to show whether they have worked.

Wheel issues came back along my return to L3. I believe it is combination of many minor things and not just one fault. I haven't found clear answer but I found something. It has something to do with Moza equipment, software and compability with codemasters f1 game. And as I play on PC, it adds more as hardware can vary a lot between moza users. I realised that during the race session, my wheel very quickly looses connection and comes back alive. Fraction of a second. This remaps my buttons to a default profile which differs a lot from my prefered one. Even gear shifts are gone, so I had to switch to auto gears during the race. I deleted default profile from my game files, updated moza software and changes in game telemetry format from 2025 to 2026. I hope these are enough to put the issues behind me.

— Jan

In Spain, Jan expects to be closer to his team-mate’s pace. Keeping that partnership productive would give Cadillac support from a pairing whose thirty-four points already exceeded Adrian and Karl’s opening D0 return.

In spain, I believe my pace is much stronger than it was in singapore, as long as I can keep my car on track and not become a fidget spinner
