Season 1 expanded to three official divisions at Las Vegas, and Lurrrks won the first D3 classification from seventh on the grid. Zoolander83 rose from fifth to second; Vendettasees finished third from third.
The six-place winning recovery gave the new division an immediate character. Its first podium was not a ceremonial procession into existence; two of its three places changed between grid and flag.
D3 starts with two tables tied at the top
Lurrrks left on 26 points, eight ahead of Zoolander. Red Bull and Ferrari were level on 26 constructor points, the race win and second place producing different individual totals but equal team sums.
Behind the podium, PRT Gignac09 recovered from 18th to sixth. Even beyond the points headline, the inaugural D3 field supplied movement rather than merely additional names.
The older divisions keep their own arguments
TheMekanic won D1 from second and extended his lead to 34 points. Tofo17 won D2 from third, while Jakebandy8 remained one point ahead of Ranga despite neither appearing on that podium.
Las Vegas enlarged IMS without making its racing repetitive. D1 produced a leader's win, D2 a new winner and D3 an entirely new contest led by a driver who started seventh.
