The first IMS season began in wet Brazil with two divisions and ended eight rounds later in Austria with three champions, three leading constructors and enough internal history to make a blank form book feel like a distant problem.
TheMekanic17 secured D1 before the finale, Ranga20063239 finished D2 champion by 22 points and Zoolander83 won D3 by one. Their routes shared the same calendar but almost nothing else.
TheMekanic turns an opening P2 into the earliest resolution
Mehinovic00 won the Brazil opener from pole, with TheMekanic second. One week later at Monza, the Red Bull driver won from fourth and moved to the top of the D1 standings on 43 points.
The first serious interruption came at Silverstone. Mehinovic won while TheMekanic scored zero, Lups3252 climbed to second in the standings and the leader's 34-point Las Vegas cushion fell to 19.
The answer was immediate: pole and victory in Abu Dhabi restored a 34-point margin. Third at Spa then left TheMekanic 49 clear with one round remaining, more than Austria's maximum individual score, and the D1 title was settled.
Ranga loses the D2 lead twice and finishes with 22 points
Jakebandy8 led Ranga by seven after Brazil. Ranga won Monza and reversed the order by two; Jake's second place in the Mystery Race reversed it again by one. The first three rounds produced three changes in the identity or direction of the lead pair.
Silverstone left Jake four points ahead after both title protagonists finished behind new winner FTR Button. Abu Dhabi changed the table decisively: Ranga finished second, Jake added nothing and a four-point deficit became a 15-point lead.
Ranga carried 23 points over the nearest challenger into Austria and scored 16 from sixth. Tofo17 finished second and Jake seventh, but Ranga's 118-point total still secured the title by 22 over tofo and 27 over Jake.
D3 needs five rounds to produce a one-point champion
D3 joined at Las Vegas with Lurrrks winning from seventh and leading Zoolander by eight. RobbySimps44 won Silverstone next and moved from ninth to first in the new standings, one point ahead of Lurrrks.
Zoolander won Abu Dhabi and closed to two behind Robby, but Spa stretched the gap back to ten. D3 reached its final round with the leader's advantage larger than it had been after the previous race and still vulnerable to one classification.
Austria delivered the sharpest reversal of the season. Zoolander finished second and scored 19; Robby was classified 14th with eight. Ten points down became a 66-65 title, won by the smallest final margin available in the standings.
The team tables choose defence, pursuit and countback
Red Bull led the final D1 constructors' table by 13 points over Mercedes. VCARB completed its late D2 charge to finish 11 ahead of Aston Martin. Ferrari and Williams tied on 79 in D3, with Ferrari listed first on countback.
Those endings fit the season that produced them. IMS began with a wet founding race, added a Mystery Race, introduced D3 and streamed Abu Dhabi, all while the points kept moving. Season 1 did not merely establish who was fastest; it established what the championship could contain.
