VCARB left Monaco at the top of the D2 constructors' standings on 134 points, six ahead of Ferrari. The team had entered the round second on 98, ten behind Ferrari's 108.
ForestalWaif1 converted pole into second place and 25 points, finishing behind VeRse LGR and ahead of PerfectPaulie88. That podium gave VCARB the largest visible contribution to its 36-point championship gain.
A 16-point swing changes the order
VCARB added 36 points while Ferrari added 20. The round therefore produced a 16-point swing: exactly enough to erase ten points of arrears and establish the new six-point margin.
The lead change did not come with a VCARB victory. VeRse won for McLaren, while Forestal's runner-up finish supplied the result around which VCARB built its championship move.
Forestal leads the other D2 table
Forestal also retained the drivers' lead on 99 points. VeRse's victory moved the McLaren driver from fourth to second on 76, leaving 23 points between the pair.
Portugal came next with VCARB carrying the smaller of two useful numbers: 134 points in total, but only six separating it from Ferrari. Monaco had changed the leader without making the contest comfortable.
