VeRse LGR won the Monaco D2 race from second on the grid to claim a first IMS victory for McLaren. Pole-sitter ForestalWaif1 finished second and PerfectPaulie88 completed the podium from fifth.
The win delivered 30 points and the only McLaren podium of the round. VeRse's result sat inside a 93-point team total built from seven starts and four top-five finishes.
Fourth becomes second in the standings
VeRse entered Monaco fourth on 46 points and left second on 76. Forestal retained first with 99 after adding 25, which reduced the title gap to 23 points.
The result created a useful split in the D2 picture. McLaren held the race win and the nearest listed driver to Forestal, while VCARB took the constructors' lead despite finishing second on track.
McLaren reaches the team-table top three
Red Bull led the weekend on 128 points and Ferrari scored 109, with McLaren third on 93. VeRse's victory gave McLaren the same number of round wins as both teams ahead, though not their podium volume.
Portugal followed with VeRse now the named challenger in D2. Monaco did not hand over either championship lead to McLaren, but it supplied the result that made the driver's side of the contest materially closer.
