Red Bull scored 188 BOTT points in Portugal, 22 more than Ferrari and the highest team-round total IMS had recorded through Season 2 Round 5. The result reduced Ferrari's championship advantage from 193 points to 171.

The round proved that Ferrari could be beaten on output without yet placing its BOTT lead in immediate danger. Red Bull won Portugal 188-166; the cumulative table remained Ferrari 749, Red Bull 578.

Four podiums spread the 188

QwAsey reet supplied Red Bull's victory from D3 pole and also finished second from P3 in D2. TheMekanic17 climbed from P11 to second in D1, while Arsenalboyz101 moved from third to second in E1. Four podiums across the divisions mattered more than a single winner.

Ferrari answered with the same number of podiums and top-five finishes—four and five—but fewer points in the places beyond them added to a 22-point round defeat. TheIceman729's E1 pole-to-win result was Ferrari's lone victory.

The benchmark moves faster than the championship

Red Bull's 188 displaced Ferrari's 178-point Imola round at the top of the historical comparison. But Ferrari had led the archived BOTT standings after every event: its margin moved from 68 to 144, 212, 193 and then 171 across the opening five rounds.

Portugal changed the ceiling before it changed the order. Red Bull demonstrated the season's best single-round score and took 22 points from the leader; Ferrari left with a smaller advantage, but one still larger than Red Bull's entire Round 4 score of 128.
