Quenooo29 won from pole in Texas to become the first official E2 race winner and claim a first IMS victory for McLaren. Murts9691 finished second from fifth and jak75421 third from fourth.
Texas was Season 2's first round with an E2 classification. Quenooo's 32 points therefore established both the initial race result and the opening benchmark in the drivers' standings.
Eight points separate the first top two
Quenooo led Murts 32-24 after the debut event. The difference reflected victory from pole against second from fifth, with the classification giving the new division an immediate points gap to carry forward.
Ferrari nevertheless led the opening E2 constructors' standings on 38 points, six ahead of McLaren on 32. Quenooo owned the winner's trophy; Ferrari's supporting score owned the first team lead.
McLaren's only podium is a victory
McLaren scored 93 BOTT points from nine Texas starts, with one win, one podium and one top-five finish. Quenooo supplied all three positive countback markers in a single E2 result.
Jeddah followed with E2 no longer a blank column. Quenooo carried its first win and drivers' lead; Ferrari carried the constructors' advantage; everyone else finally had a target rather than a hypothetical.
