TheIceman729 won Jeddah's E1 race from pole by 0.275 seconds. Darth Ussh finished second from P18 after gaining 16 positions, putting the season's deepest non-winning recovery beside the closest IMS finish on record after Jeddah.
The margin placed TheIceman729 and Ussh first on the closest-finish table after Jeddah, ahead of TheMekanic17's 0.438-second Abu Dhabi result and Duxnuts69's 0.794-second Canada win. Jeddah did not need a larger adjective; the comparison supplied the scale.
Sixteen gained places cost Ussh only six championship points
Ussh's recovery paid 25 points against TheIceman729's 31, so an E1 lead of 35 before Jeddah became 29 afterwards. TheIceman729 rose from third to second on 147; Ussh remained first on 176 despite losing the race by less than three tenths.
The other lead change lasts exactly one round
piastrigoat converted D1 pole into 31 points while TheMekanic17 scored 13. The 18-point round swing changed an 11-point Texas deficit into a seven-point Jeddah lead, returning piastrigoat to first on 144 after TheMekanic17's single round at the top.
Jeddah therefore tightened one rivalry without changing its leader and reversed another outright. Ferrari supplied both winning drivers, and its 182 BOTT points led McLaren's 114 and VCARB's 113 across the round.
Baku came next with piastrigoat seven points ahead in D1 and Ussh 29 clear in E1. The margins were different, but Jeddah had made both contests dependent on the next classification rather than the previous reputation of their leaders.
