MakeSumUP won Monza’s D3 race from P3 and claimed a first IMS victory for McLaren. The two-place gain produced 32 points.
Zoolander83 finished second from P6 and JPThaJoker third from P11. The first-time winner was followed by recoveries of four and eight places.
A first win leads a podium full of movement
No driver in the top three held the same grid position. MakeSumUP gained two, zoolander four and JPThaJoker eight, making the winner’s breakthrough the front of a broader reshuffle.
McLaren moved into second in the D3 constructors’ standings on 224 points, though VCARB remained 116 clear. The win improved position without making the team contest close.
A breakthrough changes position, not the scale of the gap
MakeSumUP’s first victory gave McLaren the maximum and lifted it one constructors’ place. VCARB’s 116-point advantage remained the inconvenient second half of that achievement.
Monza’s winner should not disappear behind the return and title stories that followed. P3 became P1, McLaren moved to second, and MakeSumUP entered the IMS winners’ list.
