JPThaJoker moved from P4 to victory in Hungary's D3 race, securing a first IMS win. JDJT3593 advanced from P7 to second and JarvisInitiate took third from P5.
JDJT retained the championship lead on 54 points, but JPThaJoker closed to 50. Four points separated the pair after three rounds; Williams led McLaren by eight in the constructors' table.
Seven to second keeps the leader alive
JPThaJoker's three-place gain won the race, while JDJT's five-place gain protected first in the standings. Hungary rewarded the winner and the leader differently, compressing the title fight without reversing it.
JarvisInitiate's third place also kept McLaren in the constructor pursuit. The podium featured three drivers who all started outside the top three, a classification shaped by movement rather than grid preservation.
A new winner joins an old argument
D3 had now produced three different winners in three rounds. JDJT was the only one to hold the lead after more than one event, but JPThaJoker's Hungary maximum placed that control under immediate pressure.
Spa came next with the title gap smaller than the distance either leading driver had gained on Hungary's grid. Four points was the number that mattered; a maiden winner was the reason it had become so small.
