VCARB won Hungary's BOTT round with 116.8 points, two victories, four podiums and five top-five finishes. JPThaJoker won D3 and Her Wet Cat won E2.
Mercedes followed on 89 and McLaren on 83.3. Ferrari scored 59.3 without a win, placing fifth for the weekend but retaining the cumulative BOTT lead on 351.2.
The round winner and championship leader diverge
Hungary was VCARB's day without yet becoming VCARB's season. Its 116.8 reduced Ferrari's accumulated advantage, but the earlier 291.9-point Ferrari opening meant the table still showed a 79-point gap.
The distribution mattered as much as the total. VCARB combined two wins with two additional podiums; Ferrari's five top-five finishes could not supply a victory and produced barely half of VCARB's round score.
A chase finally gets a reference point
Australia and Austria had belonged to Ferrari. Hungary gave VCARB a verified counterexample: it could beat the leader across the full five-classification programme and do so with more than one winner.
Spa followed with the hierarchy unchanged but its inevitability punctured. Ferrari still led; VCARB had just demonstrated the kind of round required to make that lead smaller.
