Five was the smallest gap the xAQxFr–PerfectPaulie88 contest had shown for two rounds, because there had been no gap at all: they were tied on 141 after the Mystery Race and 167 after Monza.
The winner sits outside the championship equation
QwAsey gained one place to win, FTR Button moved from P5 to second for McLaren and xAQxFr slipped from pole to third. The Vegas podium belonged to the race; the five-point final separation depended on xAQxFr's 30 against PerfectPaulie88's 25.
That split is modest enough to resist inflated language. It did not turn the finale into a runaway; it ended a contest that had reached exact equality twice, with neither tied round providing a numerical advantage.

xAQxFr trailed PerfectPaulie88 by one after Mexico, led by one after Miami, then shared 141 and 167 across the next two rounds. Las Vegas produced the first margin larger than one between them since Abu Dhabi.
The finale again split race ownership from season ownership. QwAsey reet took the victory. xAQxFr took the five-point final edge, earned not by winning Vegas but by scoring five more than the driver with whom the standings had twice refused to choose.
