VCARB did not win any of Australia's five classifications, yet seven top-five finishes from nine starts produced 93.3 points and second place in the opening BOTT round.

Ferrari led with 134.2 after winning three divisions. VCARB's different route left it 40.9 points behind the leader but 24.2 ahead of third-place Red Bull.

The podium supplied only part of it

JPThaJoker's D3 second place was VCARB's lone podium. The team total therefore depended on repeat scoring beneath the rostrum: seven top-five results, rather than one spectacular classification, kept the accumulation moving.

Australia offered an early warning against counting only wins. Ferrari's three victories deserved first place; VCARB showed that the next position could be secured by placing useful results across almost every available start.

Forty points to find, a foundation to keep

The deficit to Ferrari was substantial after one round, but second place gave VCARB the first chasing position before Austria. Its task was plain: preserve the breadth and add the win that Australia lacked.

That is the useful distinction in the opener's team story. Ferrari set the headline number. VCARB created the depth test against which its next rounds could be judged.
