Murts9691 began Season 4's D3 opener fourth and finished it first, taking a maiden IMS victory for Williams in Australia. Pole-sitter JPThaJoker was second and JarvisInitiate completed the podium from eighth.
The result carried an immediate championship dividend. Murts left Round 1 on 25 points, three ahead of JPThaJoker, while Williams led Ferrari 33-24 in the constructors' standings.
The front row does not own the podium
All three podium finishers changed position. Murts gained three places, JPThaJoker slipped one and JarvisInitiate advanced five. The classification cannot reconstruct how those changes happened, but it preserves a distinctly unsettled opening order.
For Murts, the important number was not merely P1. A first career win arrived at the same moment as the first championship lead of the campaign—a cleaner opening statement than any pre-season promise could provide.
A narrow lead travels to Austria
Three points offered no insulation. JPThaJoker had pole and second place; JarvisInitiate had already shown the capacity to reach the podium from the fourth row. Austria would test whether Australia's order had any staying power.
Still, every title table needs its first name at the top. Season 4's D3 column began with Murts9691, because the driver who started fourth was the one who converted the opener into 25 points.
