Darth Ussh left Zandvoort-R leading E1 on 90 points, 38 ahead of piastrigoat. Emdiska HD had won the race, showing that the championship leader's advantage no longer depended on taking every available victory.
Ferrari also led the constructors' standings on 135 points, 12 clear of VCARB. The driver and team gaps were both healthy; only the scale differed.
A new winner, an older lead
Zandvoort-R broadened the winner list through Emdiska without materially compressing first place in the standings. Ussh's 38-point margin was more than three times Ferrari's advantage in the team table.
That distinction is the useful midseason reading. One race can create a breakthrough; five rounds of accumulation can leave the established leader largely untouched by it.
Baku receives the widest leading gap
Among the five drivers' championships listed after Round 5, Ussh's 38-point cushion was the largest. Baku therefore arrived with E1 asking a different question from the close contests: who could first make the leader's margin contract?
The answer was not implied by Zandvoort-R. What the round established was the scale of the task—90 points against 52, while another driver took the flag.
