Schokolade won Texas E2 from fourth on the grid for Aston Martin. Behind, Rizla climbed from 15th to second for Mercedes, a 13-place recovery that dwarfed every other movement on the podium.
Gennaro1173 finished third for Alpine after starting second. The top three therefore contained a three-place winner, a 13-place runner-up and a driver who lost one position.
The runner-up changes the scale of the result
Schokolade's victory remains the central sporting outcome. Rizla's route makes the classification unusual: second place had been reached from a grid slot seven rows behind the winner.
The recovery also moved Rizla to 70 championship points, only four behind leader BBLDRiZZY6523. Texas turned a deep-grid start into both a podium and immediate title pressure.
Three teams share the podium
Aston Martin, Mercedes and Alpine each placed one driver in the top three. VCARB still led the constructors' standings by 29 points over Aston Martin, another reminder that one race and one championship can point in different directions.
Texas gave Schokolade the win and Rizla the climb. Both mattered: one set the result, the other ensured the E2 championship arrived in Mexico separated by only four points.
