Marcel Papst converted E1 pole into victory in Qatar for McLaren. Sammy278 climbed from fourth to second for Ferrari and MacoDelVolante from fifth to third for Red Bull.

Papst's pole conversion gave Qatar a clear winner's route. The 14-point separation gave the season a different pressure point heading toward Abu Dhabi.

Alpine led the E1 constructors on 226 points, 32 ahead of Ferrari. McLaren's race victory did not put the team inside the recorded leading pair.

Control at the front, uncertainty beyond it

Papst held the grid position that mattered while both chasers advanced. The podium offered clean race action without pretending it settled the championship.

Qatar separated event and season neatly: Papst owned the win; Sintium retained a 14-point target on the back.
