The breakthrough came against the two leading drivers in the championship snapshot. Rizla remained first on 176 points, 44 ahead of BBLDRiZZY6523.
A first win interrupts the title order
Gennaro gained two places to beat both protagonists, turning a second-row start into the top step. The result carried personal significance even while the points lead remained elsewhere.
Alpine's win arrived while Aston Martin led the E2 constructors on 194 points, 11 ahead of Mercedes. Qatar distributed race and championship honours across three teams.
The win stands on its own
