MacoDelVolante converts Texas pole into the opening D1 lead

MacoDelVolante won the Season 7 D1 opener from pole at Texas and left the round first in the drivers' standings on 31 points.

MagMagnussen rose from fourth on the grid to second for Aston Martin and opened the campaign on 23 points, setting MacoDelVolante's first advantage at eight.

Pole, victory and first place align

MacoDelVolante kept the lead from the first grid slot to the classification. MagMagnussen gained two places to finish second, while OfflineKids completed the podium after starting alongside Maco on the front row.

The clean sweep of result and table gave Red Bull the earliest possible reference point in D1. MagMagnussen's recovery limited the opening margin to eight rather than letting pole position become immediate separation.

Red Bull also starts first in the D1 team race

Red Bull led Aston Martin by four in the D1 constructors' standings, 38 to 34. Across the full round, Red Bull's 167 BOTT points also established a 47-point lead over Williams.

Austria would receive a precise opening question: could MacoDelVolante protect the lead once the front row changed? Texas supplied the first answer; an eight-point gap ensured it was not the last.
