IkonicKiyan7 moved from 17th on the Monza D2 grid to fifth at the finish, gaining 12 positions. Through Season 1 Round 2, only MSRT MagHeXC's 13-place Brazil recovery was larger.
The result did not reach the podium occupied by Ranga20063239, ricardo1803 and jakebandy8. Its distinction came from the distance travelled rather than the final step reached.
One place separates the top two recoveries
MagHeXC's P20-to-P7 charge remained first on 13 gains, with Ikonic second on 12. GMDD VINKE95, Poulparindo4256 and Trident65 completed the top five at that point in IMS history.
The scale deserves precision. Ikonic was neither the biggest mover nor a podium finisher; he ranked second for places gained and fifth in the race itself.
Haas converts movement into its only top five
Haas scored 14 points from three Monza starts with one top-five finish and no podiums. Ikonic's P5 was therefore the team's sole result inside the first five, giving the recovery a collective use beyond its ranking.
Monza produced a record-equalling podium recovery for Jake and a near-record fifth place for Ikonic. The same weekend supported both stories because one ended with silverware and the other showed how far a drive could matter without it.
