FTR Button won Silverstone D2 from second on the grid, securing a first IMS victory for VCARB. Jakebandy8 fell from pole to second and Ranga20063239 held third.
The title rivals shared the remaining podium places, but neither collected the maximum. Button's one-place gain placed a new winner directly in front of the season's established top two.
Jake adds three points to a one-point lead
Jake moved from 59 to 77 championship points, while Ranga climbed from 58 to 73. The gap expanded from one point to four because second paid three more than third.
Button therefore changed the race without hijacking the title table. His first victory took the largest score, while the two contenders continued their argument immediately behind him.
VCARB turns one win into a 45-point round
VCARB finished third in the combined BOTT standings with 45 points from four starts, one win, one podium and two top-five results. Button's 25 supplied more than half of the total.
Abu Dhabi came next with Jake four points clear of Ranga and FTR Button now written into the winners' list. Silverstone had served the title fight and still found room for somebody else's day.
