Abu Dhabi became the first IMS race weekend to be streamed. The surviving classifications gave the new audience three different races: a pole win in D1, a comeback win in D2 and a two-point title squeeze in D3.
TheMekanic17 converted D1 pole into victory, ahead of SleekMover and Thalo4. His championship lead returned to 34 points over Lups3252 with two rounds remaining.
Ranga regains D2 without winning the race
Yvngeze5654 won D2 from fourth on the grid. Ranga finished second from pole and tofo17 recovered from sixth to third; Jakebandy8 did not make the podium.
Those results moved Ranga to 92 points, 15 ahead of Jake on 77. The standings lead changed hands through a runner-up finish because the previous leader's score was absent from the top-three classification.
Zoolander wins; Robby keeps two points
Zoolander83 won D3 from second, with RobbySimps44 rising from third to second. Robby's 45 points remained two more than Zoolander's 43, so the race winner closed the contest without taking it over.
The first stream did not need a manufactured show. It arrived at a weekend where the D1 leader won, the D2 leader changed and the D3 lead nearly did. The cameras had chosen their timing well.
