Piastrigoat won the Mystery Race D1 classification from P8 and moved into second in the championship. TheMekanic17 finished runner-up from P5 and retained a 49-point lead.

The winner scored 37 points and the leader 34, so a seven-place victory charge reduced the championship gap by only three. TheMekanic left on 180 points to piastrigoat’s 131.

Seven grid places produce three championship points

Piastrigoat’s recovery was the larger visual story at the front. TheMekanic’s P5-to-P2 result was the quieter arithmetic answer, yielding only three fewer points and protecting most of a large pre-existing advantage.

Red Bull also moved into the D1 constructors’ lead on 247 points, 26 ahead of Mercedes. The driver who lost the race therefore left with both a personal cushion and his team in first.

The chase changes name more than shape

Piastrigoat became the nearest challenger by moving from third to second. What did not change much was the scale of the task: 49 points remained between the Ferrari driver and TheMekanic.

The Mystery Race gave piastrigoat the win and the runner-up championship position. It gave TheMekanic the more defensive achievement: second on the road, first in the table, 49 points still in hand.
