Fredrumguit climbed from 12th on the D3 grid to finish second in Austria, gaining ten positions on the way to a first IMS podium.

The Alpine finished behind jak75421, who had started P10, and ahead of Aston Martin's jazzy-draught9, who advanced from P8.

The largest climb on the podium

Fredrumguit's ten-place gain exceeded the winner's nine and third place's five. The one position it did not recover separated a milestone podium from victory.

Second place put Fredrumguit on 23 points, seven behind jak75421's winning total of 30 in the first D3 standings.

A first result with immediate championship weight

The opener cannot establish a season trend, but it fixes a useful fact for the next round: Alpine owns the closest named challenger in D3 because its driver recovered from the final podium row.

Austria's D3 race belonged to jak75421. Fredrumguit's separate achievement was making a first podium out of the deepest starting position among its top three.
