WorseTurnip850 advanced from P4 to second for Alpine, with jak75421 climbing from P6 to third for Williams.
A 30-point championship swing
Nesbi took 30 points out of Aardvark's championship advantage. The result moves Nesbi to first on 202 points, 16 ahead of Aardvark on 186.
The swing is larger than the new gap because it crosses zero: a deficit becomes a lead rather than merely shrinking on one side of the line.
Two recoveries join the winner
Nesbi gained two places, WorseTurnip two and jak three. Every podium finisher advanced, and WorseTurnip's second place marked a first IMS podium.
Japan leaves E3 with a full reversal at the top: the race winner is now the championship leader, and the driver previously ahead is 16 points behind.
